Focus. Push. One thing at a time.

The advice…
When life gets busy and overwhelming, looking at everything that needs to be done can feel paralysing. In those moments, focus your energy on what’s truly important. Then push yourself into action - one step at a time.
Where it’s coming from…
I often start the day with a list of things I’d like to get done, only to end up frustrated when I don’t manage it - usually because something “more important” gets in the way.
That feeling is draining. But after some self-reflection, conversations with other women, podcasts, and articles, I’m realising this: the only way to move forward is simple. First, prioritise what has to be done. Then, focus on what matters to you.
In this season of my life, some things are non-negotiable: getting my child ready for school, packing lunch, prepping dinner, going to work, shuttling her to activities. These have to get done. And it’s okay - even though they often feel like they’re sucking up every ounce of my energy.
But beyond those tasks, I want to carve out time for my thing. And the moment I sit down to do it, the mental noise begins: reply to that email, the floors are a mess, text your friend back, pick up ballet hairpins. A bombardment of random to-dos.
But here’s the truth: they can wait. Because right now, it’s time to focus.
Then comes the action. Things don’t fall into your lap - you have to make them happen. And that requires a push. A push to sit down, stay present, and work on one thing.
And when the million little thoughts fire at you, remind yourself: one thing at a time. This moment is for the thing that matters.
Focus. Push. One thing at a time.
